Now playing, in view
The player name, title, artist, album, cover art, a progress bar, elapsed and total time and a playback state chip.
The Spotify mini-app for GlintOS shows what is playing on your Android phone on Maverick AI and AI Pro glasses, and lets you pause, skip and seek from the temple touchpad.
This mini-app is a now playing remote control. Start a song, podcast or audiobook on your phone, and the glasses show the title, artist, album, cover art and progress. Tap the temple touchpad to play or pause, swipe to change track, and Long tap for a menu with seeking, player choice and track details.
It is built around Spotify, but it is not a Spotify client. There is no Spotify API, developer key or sign-in. GlintOS reads what a player publishes to Android, through the Notification access you grant it, so any Android player with a media session can be shown and controlled.
The player name, title, artist, album, cover art, a progress bar, elapsed and total time and a playback state chip.
Jump to a position in 5-second steps, or move 15 seconds back or forward. Handy for podcasts, when the player allows seeking.
Spotify is the main target, but any Android player with a media session appears under its app name. Automatic follows whichever one is playing.
The playback state changes only when the player reports it. A control the player does not allow is not sent; a banner says so.
Art comes from the picture the player supplies, made small for the glasses. It is never downloaded from a link.
Cover art, the track text, a progress bar with times, a state chip, and Previous, Play/Pause and Next.
Jump to position, Back 15 seconds, Forward 15 seconds, Choose player, Track details, Open on phone and Home.
Automatic, then every active player with its state. A player you pick stays selected until it goes away.
Allow access when notification access is missing, and Ready when you are, with Refresh, when nothing is playing on your phone.

Now playing in Small, Medium or Large: title, artist and progress, plus cover art in Medium and Large and times in Large. Add it from the app’s page in the phone companion app.
Under Apps > Spotify: cover art, the full track text, a seek slider, Previous, Play/Pause and Next, and 15-second jumps.
A Player list to follow the active player automatically or pick one, and a button to open the player on your phone.
Setup help for notification access, which opens Android’s setting only when you tap it.
Connected over Bluetooth. No eye tracking, camera or microphone is used, so either model works.
GlintOS reads Android’s media sessions, so this app is Android only.
Start playback in the player first. GlintOS never starts audio by itself.
No GlintOS sign-in. Your Spotify account stays in Spotify, whose rules on ads, skips and seeking still apply.
No Spotify Web API, SDK, developer account or OAuth is used, and nothing is entered in GlintOS.
The app contacts no internet domains. A streaming player may need its own connection to play.
Android allows media control only through Notification access. On Android 13 and later, if the switch for GlintOS is greyed out, first choose Allow restricted settings in GlintOS’s App info menu.
A per-app switch under Apps > Spotify > Access in the GlintOS phone companion app, or Settings > Privacy on the glasses.
GlintOS is planned as a free APK. Your player’s own subscription and terms are unchanged.
These rows are about Spotify. GlintOS itself also needs internet on the phone the first time it connects to your glasses and about once a month after that, when the glasses’ security certificate is renewed.
